The Huichols are a Mexican tribe. They live in the north of Jalisco, Nayarit, Zacatecas and Durango, in the mountains that cross these states; they are quite isolated. They have kept very old customs until now, and they are very proud of them. The Huichols, who call themselves ¨Wixarika¨ (read Wirrarrica), which means ¨the healer¨ (Shaman healer with good hearing), are one of the rare cultural minorities to have remained "pure" since the conquest.
